Sure. I'm using /usr/include/db4.2 for the headers and /usr/lib/db4.2/
for the libraries. db4.1 is in /usr/include/db4.1 and /usr/lib (but
I had to mangle some names in order to avoid conflicts).

Previously I used /usr/lib for the libraries, but some have conflicting
names (in particular the libdb-4.so symlink created by make install).
So far, I'm not having that much trouble recompiling stuff with db4.2
and specifying these directories for db4.2, at most some configure.in
and .m4 patching.
