It is not immediate. It can depend on a lot of things, so far as I can tell. I tell our clients 12 seconds from the time the master receives a change to expect to find the changes on the replica's, and that seems to work well as a rule of thumb in our environment. Your mileage may vary, and I suggest monitoring your servers to find out what your replication delay is.
