A quick answer. That depends... :-)

(A not so quick answer. I would guess you men whether matching in LDAP
filters is case sensitive or not. This depends on the defined matching
rule that applies to the attribute you are trying to match. There are
case sensitive and case insensitive matching rules. If you have a
standard attribute you should consult the RFC where the attribute is
defined (or the schema definition). If you define your own attributes
you can decide for yourself whethter the matching should be
case-sensitive or not).
