Yeah, I'd normally use Net::LDAP too, but corporate policy dictates
that we use core modules only e.g. we upgrade a branch on the other
side of the world from perl5.00503 to perl5.8.0, and those scripts
had better not need extra stuff in site_perl...

Which is why I rewrote MIME::Base64 :-)
