RE: openldap down and pam ldap

I've had this problem.  The version of pam_ldap that came with our SuSE distro loops in the auth step trying to connect if the LDAP server isn't available.  We never solved it, we switched to Kerberos for authentication.  Pam_krb5 seems to recover better.

hello! I would like to ask if anyone has encountered the problem of using pam ldap for authentication and openldap server is not started. I could not seem to login even if I use local accounts.
