RE: Performance issues

It's really stange... Performances are affected by a lot of things. On
my Linux PC RH7.2 (1Ghz,512Mb RAM) I can get 200 queries/sec on indexed
attributes and 140 write/sec. Check well you index table and choose a new
release of OpenLDAP and BerkeleyDB. Check well also your cache, usually
a correct cache size increases performances.

Subject: Performance issues

Anyone else seeing poor query times on their openldap. I can't figurer
out what is causing it. Using a perl script which calls system() to run
an ldap query will sometines take as long as 15min. It seems to be
getting worse!!! The smtp server, which is now using ldap, is showing
poor performance signs as well now. When sending an email it can take
from 1 sec upto 10minutes. The whole time it is waiting for a reply
from the ldap server. I finally had to disable our signup CD for new
customers, because the signup process would time out before the ldap
server would respond.

I must find a solution to this. Anyone have any ideas?

ldap-2.0
Linux 2.4-Kernel
