file descriptor usage and problem OpenLDAP - linux

hi all:

i have a problem with the openldap in linux. i use the ldap to mail routing, today when the high load time starts the server crack down.

i stripped the log and i found several details:

           - i found that the fd number for new connections is very high. i use other servers with Solaris, and never the fd number for new connections outrange 200 or 250 file descriptor. in new server (Linux) the fd reach to 600 file descriptor, at the same time. i think that the the server dont close the connection well or that if server is more sofly, he needs more connection opens, because he receive more connections than he can serve.

            - i found several messages like "connection read(XXX): no connection!", XXX is a number. i dont know what means.

i loof for someone that work with openldap and linux. Can help me?

thanks for all

    agustin.
