how to add an matching syntax to an existing attribute type?

Hi,

AFAIKS the predefined attribute type facsimiletelephonenumber does not
provide a rule for equality matching, which means I can't use this
attribute in search filters.  Is there any way (besides changing
schema_init.c) to e.g. add the telephoneNumberMatch also for
facsimiletelephonenumber? (I.e. I know how to do this when defining new
attribute types, but not for predefined ones).
