Adding my own two Eurocents' worth to what Alan wrote, I'd remark that
there is excellent and comprehensive documentation for BDB in the
Sleepycat installation tarball. It explains (almost?) everything you'd
want to know.

And using BDB, fixing a corrupt database, making backups and other
necessary maintenance is both easy and 100% assured of success.

Correct, that's what the doc says ... However a small procedure/howto or even an example on how to backup, restore and tunning the databases would be very welcome .
