Possible bug?

I am trying to compile openldap-2.1.12 on Solaris 9 sparc and cannot get the
configure script run. When I do ./configure all I get is the following:

bash-2.05b$ ./configure
Copyright 1998-2003 The OpenLDAP Foundation,  All Rights Reserved.
        Restrictions apply, see COPYRIGHT and LICENSE files.

and when I check config.log it is blank. Has anyone seen or had this issue
before? I can compile any of the openldap-2.0.xx series without an issue?

Any input would be appreciated.
