how to fix "ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: No such object"

Hello,

I'm trying to setup an openldap directory here at our internet cafe, but
when I try to
 ldapadd -f ldif.conf
I get
 ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: No such object

Looking at the list archives, I believe that this message means that I
haven't got the required information in the DSE, but looking a little
further in the list leads me to believe that you cannot add or subtract
information from the DSE; that ldap does this itself, and only ldap may
do so.

I have Red Hat 8.0, with openldap (openldap-2.0.25-1) and sasl
(cyrus-sasl-2.1.7-2) installed and with an ldap.pem certificate.

How can I fix this problem? 

Any help you might give me will surely be appreciated.
