configure issue with openldap-2.1.12

I am trying to configure openldap-2.1.12 on Solaris 9 Sparc. When I try to
run ./configure I get the following:

Copyright 1998-2003 The OpenLDAP Foundation,  All Rights Reserved.
        Restrictions apply, see COPYRIGHT and LICENSE files.

and that is as far as it goes. When I check config.log it also only contains
the above.

Anyone have any ideas as to the issue? Earlier versions configure fine but
test fails on them.
