LDAP-Error: Undefined attribute type - userCertificate

When I attempt to use the 'userCertificate' attribute I get :**FAILED**
LDAP-Errno: 17 LDAP-Error: Undefined attribute type

But I don't have this problem using 'userSMIMECertificate' attribute.

How do I specify that I wish to use the 'userCertificate' attribute?
