RE: ERROR

Thanks Leila, I disabled my firewall using linuxconf, but the problem still
hasn't gone away.  Iam currently running openldap 2.0.18 and it might be
time to upgrade to version 2.0.23 (not that this will necessarily solve the
problem).  Anyone should I just install over the top of 2.0.18 or should I
unistall 2.0.18, and if I need to uninstall is there a script to do this?

Hi Patrick,

It look like you're having the same problem that I had, (errno=97).  It's
because of network protocol that's installed on your machine doesn't match
what openLDAP is expecting, something about IPv4 and IPv6.  I was advised to
ignore the message and just disable my firewall.  I did it and now I can
ignore the message and continue to work. My system is RH 7.2 and I ran
linuxconf to disable the firewall.

If your problem is the same then you may be able to get around it without
installing openldap again, as I did.
