pam_ldap using ldaps not working !

I found out that the pam_ldap module is not commuicating using ldaps.
Instead it is always using ldap to connect.
My ldap.conf is configured only to use the uri ldaps://host.domain/ and ssl
Now i compiled the pam_ldap-140 manually with the same effect.
The modules ist linked to all necessary libs:
libldap.so.2 => /usr/lib/libldap.so.2 (0x4000d000)
        liblber.so.2 => /usr/lib/liblber.so.2 (0x40036000)
        libcrypt.so.1 => /lib/libcrypt.so.1 (0x40040000)
        libresolv.so.2 => /lib/libresolv.so.2 (0x4006d000)
        libpam.so.0 => /lib/libpam.so.0 (0x4007e000)
        libdl.so.2 => /lib/libdl.so.2 (0x40086000)
        libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x4008a000)
        libnsl.so.1 => /lib/libnsl.so.1 (0x401ad000)
        libsasl.so.7 => /usr/lib/libsasl.so.7 (0x401c2000)
        libssl.so.0.9.6 => /usr/lib/libssl.so.0.9.6 (0x401ce000)
        libcrypto.so.0.9.6 => /usr/lib/libcrypto.so.0.9.6 (0x401fb000)
        /lib/ld-linux.so.2 => /lib/ld-linux.so.2 (0x80000000)
        libdb2.so.2 => /lib/libdb2.so.2 (0x402bc000)

Any comments will be appreciated.
