My experience with anything less than Windows 2000 has been marked by
instability and Posix incompatibility.  I would try this on Windows 2000
and not on Windows me/9x.  I expect you will get no detailed answers
from the list until you at least try the version of MS OS that actually
almost works.  Yes, I know they want a fortune for that, but then in
that case, why not use Linux?
