ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s bind error

i'm receiving the above error when i try to use ldapadd to add entries to my
ldap database


i'm using rh 7.1
openldap 2.0.11
cyrus-sasl-gssapi-1.5.24-17
cyrus-sasl-1.5.24-17
cyrus-sasl-devel-1.5.24-17

i can connect fine using an ldap client.
i'm using default config settings in my slapd.conf file
my command line is:
./ldapadd -f ../../openldap3/bin/entries.ldif -D
"cn=manager,dc=dino,dc=com" -W

how can i fix the above message
