With the OpenLDAP-2.0.9 my programs have greater size.

Hi,
I have a C program which uses the OpenLDAP library for connect with an
OpenLDAP server. I'm using the static version of the library to make the
compilation.

Since now, I was using the OpenLDAP-2.0.7. With the library supplied in this
version, the number of bytes of my compiled program, after using the strip
command over it, was 260424.

With the new OpenLDAP-2.0.9 the number of bytes of the same C program but
compiled with the new library supplied is 1060236 (after use the strip
command over it).
799812 bytes more !!!!

Is this normal ?
Wich is the reason for this increase in the size of the compilation result
exec file ?

Many thanks for your help.
