Crypt algorithms for Ver 1.2.11-86

Hi !

I have a question about the following excerpt from the slapd.conf manpage of 
Version 1.2.11-86

 rootpw <password>
              Specify  a  password  (or hash of the password) for
              the rootdn.  This option accepts all password  for­
              mats  -> known  to  the server <- including {SHA}, {MD5},
              {CRYPT}, and cleartext.

How can I know, which password formats are ``known to the server''  ?
