you need to have -b "" which means that you are doing a base search on the root. Besides since you are doing a search for operational attributes, you would need to mention those attributes too.
try this.
 
"ldapsearch -h devmain   -b ""  -s base objectclass=* supportedldapversion"

Hi all,

I have installed Openldap from an RPM package .   I am looking for the following attributes:  supportedLDAPVersion   and  SupportedSASL

I tried ldapsearch with the -s base and objectclass=*,  that won't return what I need to know.  What is the trick??
