Norbert Klasen <klasen@zdv.uni-tuebingen.de> found now the bug:
I have had a trailing space after "objectclass: dcObject" in my root.ldif!

What a horrible error circumstance!

The error message from ldapadd was totally misleading, espacially the
"ldif_record() = 21" - the wrong record was #3!
