SASL problem: ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: No such attribute

I'm new to OpenLDAP. I have just installed V2.0.4 with TLS and SASL support.
Everything works smoothly if I use simple authentication. However, if I do not
use simple authentication, e.g. ldapsearch -b 'dc=example,dc=com'
'(objectclass=*)', I get the following error message:

ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: No such attribute

>From the mailing list archive, I find that it is because OpenLDAP cannot find
any SASL plugin. However, I have installed Cyrus-SASL with libanonymous.so,
libplain.so, and ... in /usr/lib/sasl. Are these the SASL mechanisms required by
OpenLDAP? I cannot find any document from OpenLDAP and Cyrus web sites about the
configuration of SASL. Please help. Thanks.
