Re: Netscape Roaming Profile for OpenLDAP v2

As anyone bothered to ask Netscape for LDAPv3 schema definitions
(in an RFC2252 compatible form)? Or attempted to extract the
definitions from any LDAPv3 server which supports this schema?

It is generally not wise to attempt to reverse engineer schema
definitions. Before we attempt such, we should exhaust all
avenues of obtaining the schema from the originator.

If a copy cannot be obtained, then it's best to design a new
definitions that are name, syntax, matching rule compatible
(as tested) but that uses new OIDs. It is generally a bad
idea to define new uses for old OIDs. It's a really bad
idea to define a new uses using someone else's OIDs.
