Re: losing database on shutdown

I have following entry for directory in my slapd.conf:
directory /usr/local/var/openldap-ldbm

And I do have the /usr/local/var/openldap-ldbm dir. created with 700.
I thought this is where all the files reside and I do see them.
What is the need for the /usr/local/var/openldap?

Thank You

ameet
