That'd be the quickest, easiest way to go. As far as making sure the data
is safe goes...have the master be on a regular filesystem, but don't use
it for queries.
I've personally found *HUGE* gains in moving DB2's from UFS to MFS
for other tasks, it'd probably make this type of thing a lot faster as
well.
