It cannot be used, coz OpenLDAP is ldapv2 while Directory Server is ldapv3.  If
you want a v3 compliant ldap server, get Umich's Ldap.

LDAPv3 for Openldap will not be till 1.3?? The current version is 1.2.9. 1.3 is
still in development... But there's a lack of writers

It is possible since NS Directory can replicate with LDAPv2
