OpenLDAP 1.x implements LDAPv2+ and hence supports no controls.
OpenLDAP 2.0 (under development) supports LDAPv3 (and LDAPv2+).
It currently supports one control, ManageDsaIT (2.16.16.840.1.113730.3.4.2).
Development of other controls is encouraged.
