Adding a large file

Hi,
when trying to add a file > 130k with ldapadd, I get the
error "Can't contact LDAP server". I already tried to
derive the attributetype from JPEG-Photo and UTF-8 specifying
the maximum length, but it didn't work. Does anybody know,
if there is a size limit for attribute entries? Would be 
very kind, if somebody could help me solving this problem.
