I started off thinking
  o=Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, c=US
was the way to go.

Then I read a lot of the Stanford stuff (and others). That persuaded me that
  dc=RPI, dc=edu
was a good thing.

Now I find that the Netscape documents seem to promote
  o=Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
or is this just for their Certificate Management System?

Will I run into problems with dc=rpi, dc=edu?
