OpenLDAP -> NS DS -> NT ?!?
So ... I've got NIS, LDAP, and NT.
Currently, LDAP is Netscape Directory Server, running the Replication thing so
NT will use the passwords that come from DS.
I'd like to replace Directory Server with something I can configure without a
fragging web interface. You know, like OpenLDAP.
But I'm kinda stuck on the convenience of the replication from DS -> NT.
Has anyone gotten Netscape's NT replication thing to work with OpenLDAP? Or,
worst case, get DS to be a slave server, passing the word on to NT?
Also, and I bet this is way out, can I use {CRYPT} passwords in such a setup?
Right now it's {SHA} ... I assume {CRYPT} would give me something to populate
NIS with but kill the idea of NT getting passwords.
I'd prefer not to host the PDC on my auth machine, as others have suggested,
just because NT scares me, but ... well ... we could try that too.
Oh, to have some other folks in my department ... :)
Thanks,
-danny
