Attributes and authentification
Hi there!
I've recognized that the standard objectclass person has no attribute
mail.
When I disable the schema-check, it doesn't matter if I use the this
attribute inside the objectclass person.
But can the disabling of the schema-check cause other problems? I mean
if there wouldn't appear any problems, then I don't understand why to
use the attributes listet in the slapd.conf file. This only seem to make
sense if information should be stored which have to be absolutely
correct.
Other question: could it cause a problem if I add the attribute mail in
the default objectclass person?
New topic:
I want to use LDAP for authentification in a unix-network.
So I downloaded the migration-tools, which migrate the passwd, alias
etc. into LDIF-Files.
Is there a simple method to authenticate user via an LDAP-Server?
Is there a simple method to add users to an LDAP-Server when I have
added an account in the passwd or the ypasswd?
Thanks,
Stefan
