I am using slapd of openLdap on linx.
I was successful in defining a new object class/ attributes etc by editing
slapd.oc.conf and slapd.ac.conf.
I am not able to able to have my attribute in the DN of my object..
i.e I defined a new object class as ( in in slapd.oc.conf)
objectclass myObject
requires
objectClass,
myattribute
allows
description
and also defined myattribute as( in sladp.at.conf)
attribute myattribute
ces
When I add a directory dn with Distinguished name as
dn="myattribute=abc, <then the other required attributes...>"
I get an error.
( if I add the instanc of myObject without "myattibute" in
the DN by using standard stuff like
cn, o etc it gets added...)
Any help would be deeply appreciated....
regards shailesh
p.s It is also quite suprisng that the RDN of an object need not
be one of the
attributes of the object ( i.e It need not be defined explicitly
in the Object class
definition..) Is my understanding right??. OR is it that the attributes
in the RDN
automaicaly become one of the attributes of the object being identified....eventhough
not present in the Objectclass definition...
