extensible object

I understand that it's a bad practice to use extensibleObject since it
defeats all schema constraints. So, why is it included in the LDAP
specification at all? When does it make sense? Any real-life example?

Also, does any LDAP server has a provision for the admin to disable
extensibleObject so the class cannot be added to any objects?

thanks,
Jing
