newbie: many domains

I am rather new to LDAP.
I have read the RFCs and some FAQs and the UMICH tutorial.
I have successfully compiled and installed openLDAP-1.2.0.

All the examples I've found so far are for "single domains".

I'd like to experiment and later make serious use of LDAP.

As we are an ISP and have a lot of customer domains I want to
put them all in LDAP for looking up e.g. email addresses and
use them with our mailers/POP servers (later).

Which would be a correct setup, that is
- how would I set up the slapd.conf (entries for suffix and rootdn)
- how would I design the users entries?
Should I create organizational and country entries for each domain
  from the domainname?
- are there already predefined objects for storing
     POP-account, POP-passwd, HOME-directory, email-address
and if not is it wise to create such an object of my own or will I run
into problems if a standardized will be agreed on later?

Sorry if these are dump questions, but I am right at the start with all
this and it looks like I am a bit lost.

A RTFM with some pointers would be perfectly ok.
(I'll come back with hopefully more intelligent questions if I don't
get it right from that ;-)

Thanks,

	\Maex
