First, sorry for taking so long to reply. I have been sick since last
Tuesday, and am only now getting back to some of my e-mail.

Last Friday I recompiled the OpenLDAP server on a Solaris 2.6 box. After
extensive testing this weekend and yesterday, the server has not
disappeared or core-dumped. So I am now firmly convinced that it is a
either a bug with Solaris 2.5.1 or a bug with Solaris 2.5.1's
implementation of regex.

If anyone has any other ideas (so we could return the software to one of
our spare servers), please let me know.  Thanks for everyone's help,
