I had same errors interacting netscape 4.0x (dont remember) and an umich
slapd, but it still keeps on resulting random errors when querying "big"
servers as Infoseek, Verisign or even the Netcenter ldap service.

Sometimes it works, but once you get an error, you must close and restart
netscape. I've always thought that it was Linux-port of Communicator, but
havent tested with other ports...
