I hope someone can shed some light on this for me... I have checked out
the The SLAPD and SLURPD Administrators Guide, I have perused the
blossoming Howto by Mark Grennan, and I have not found the root of my
problem:

I have installed the 1.0.2 rpms located at http://blank.pages.de/ldap/

I have created a ldif file as noted in the howto... and created the
database. I have started the server and even connected to it successfully.
My problem lies in the following:

[root@avarice ldap]# ldapsearch -v -b 'o=AFS,c=US' 'objectclass=*'
ldap_open( localhost, 389 )
filter pattern: objectclass=*
returning: ALL
filter is: (objectclass=*)
0 matches

Using both the OpenLDAP rpms and the UMich rpms I have experienced
frustration in actually retrieving info from the ldap database.

Everyone is doing a terrific job with this project! Please help me get
rolling with this.
