as I was not sure from the comments if this was really ready for release.

I guess, if the behavior now matches RFC4511 and it didn't before, then we ought to release that patch. It would probably be a good idea to add a test case for it.

Please test RE2.4 and let me know how things go.


All tests of current RE24 passed for me.
