Actually, I'm not too fussed: our priorities are robustness, stability
of internal APIs, and functionality (in that order). Performance ranks
a distant fourth at the moment.

I must say, the stuff you can do with OpenLDAP these days is nothing
short of amazing -- SLAPI has been the killer app for us.
