Mac OS X and OpenLDAP

Hi guys,

I have what I think are some pretty newbie questions.  If these 
questions have been asked before, feel free to yell at me (but let me 
know where the answers are too! :-)).  I looked at all the list 
archives but couldn't find anything to point me in the right 
direction.

I am trying to compile and use the OpenLDAP sources within Mac OS 
10.1.  Has anyone ever tried this before?  If so, do you have any 
pointers for me?  If not, would it be valuable to work on this?  
Given that there would be value, I must say that I feel pretty 
daunted by the whole project ... where should I begin after the 
basics of configuring and making the sources?  How should I approach 
learning the details of the code?  I was actually able to compile the 
2.0.18 sources in Mac OS 10.1 ... am I working on actually using the 
results of the builds now.

Any assistance you could offer would be greatly appreciated!
