processor load slapd

Hello,
I've a problem with slapd under NT. When I start the daemon everything
is fine and my processor load is 0 %. Thus the deamon is waiting for
ldapmessages. However when I have done one ldapsearch the processor load
will not go back to the original 0 % load. Instead slapd takes 100 %
processor load forever. Does anybody has a suggestion how to solve this?
