Is it possible for you to update to a current version of MSYS/Mingw? 
Looking at ITS#8127, it appears running a current version from 
<https://sourceforge.net/projects/mingw-w64/files/mingw-w64/mingw-w64-release/> 
should fix the build issues you've encountered.
