It would appear you have keepalive settings in your configuration, which 
are only valid for Linux, as noted in the man page.  I will make a SWAG 
that they were added because you have a firewall breaking connections 
between clients and the server.  As per the ldap_get_option(3) man page: 
Mainly intended for use with Linux, they may not be portable.
