I've now set

export CFLAGS="-g -O2"

now and it still seg faults (after 26 runs).

Right before the build I'm always doing

cvs up -Rd .

This shows me two merges in contrib/ code where I'd tweaked the Makefile to
reflect the path of the working dir. Please advice what I should do better.
