(a) OpenLDAP 2.3 does not support BDB 4.6.  Use a supported version of BDB.

(b) Upgrade to the most recent release. If you had taken the time to go to the OpenLDAP website and read the changelog prior to filing your bug, you would have seen that there were fixes for syncrepl since OpenLDAP 2.3.32. If you can reproduce after upgrading and using a supported version of BDB, please follow up.
