There's no need for patching for you problem; I think the error you were 
getting was entirely related to the erroneous filter; in fact, the 
filter is already working without any patch, because the filter testing 
routine is smart enough to use the entry's DN when filtering for 
entryDN.  The patch may be of help when filtering for other generated 
attributes, e.g. hasSubordinates and so (unfortunately, hasSubordinates 
cannot be generated right now by back-bdb in tool mode).
