The fix is now in RE22 and in HEAD; initially I thought HEAD was not
affected, but it was because of a dependency on the order of the
subordinates.

For the records: Apurva Kumar designed and first implemented it; Howard
Chu turned it into an overlay and re-engineered it.  I might have fixed a
couple of issues here and there...
