(this is rather a -devel posting, but let's keep things together)

one nice feature could be to display some info on the installed
plugins in the back-monitor entry of the related database; by
writing appropriate code to handle modify operations, the moditor
backend may also be used to do some plugin administration ...
I don't know how far we want to go in this direction (loading
plugins by means of an add operation as Netscape does :) and
I don't think I have much time to dedicate to the topic, but I
wanted to post this only to keep track of it in the SLAPI
discussion if, as I hope, it will take place.
