Per previous discussion with OpenLDAP folks including Kurt, OctetString
(www.octetstring.com) is donating an Open Source driver that allows people to
use the Java JDBC framework to access LDAP servers, including OpenLDAP.
Many developers are familiar with Sun's Java? JDBC? Technology. "[An] API that
lets you access virtually any tabular data source from the Java? programming
language. It provides cross-DBMS connectivity to a wide range of SQL databases,"
and now, with the introduction of OctetString's JDBC LDAP Bridge driver, JDBC
can be used to access LDAP directory databases.
The file referenced by this ITS includes full source. Additional information can
be found at http://www.octetstring.com/products/jdbcldapdriver/index.html.
