the use of the suffixAlias directive, at least as I intend it, requires to
define
the aliasing suffix also as an extra database suffix, otherwise the
select_backend
routine won't be able to select the proper backend based on an aliased dn or
search 
base. But the code in servers/slapd/config.c for suffixAlias input requires the
suffixAlias entry to precede the aliasing suffix definition, otherwise the
latter is
nearly silently ignored. The patch I submitted fixes this bug; in my opinion,
this
code could be made cleaner, as I explained in a message I posted to the software

mailing list.
